Jason Frederick Emert concentrates his practice on international litigation and arbitration, government affairs, national security, and foreign relations. His clients include members of congress, diplomats, world leaders, foreign governments, and global and domestic corporations.
Prior to his legal practice, Jason led a European-based non-governmental organization (“NGO”) where he worked with civil society organizations, political parties, and foreign governments on human rights, rule of law, democratization, and free trade around the world. He is an internationally recognized expert on election law and has participated in numerous international election observation missions. He has a broad range of experience across several countries, particularly in Central & Eastern Europe, West Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Similarly, Jason also served as chairman of one of the nation’s oldest and largest political organizations where he drafted and instituted updated bylaws to reflect changes in campaign finance, ethics, and electioneering in compliance with campaign finance and political laws.
Jason is a reserve officer in the U.S. Air Force, currently serving as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the 134th Air Refueling Wing in the Tennessee Air National Guard.
Outside the Firm
As a former Division I college football player and coach, Jason enjoys staying active. He regularly gets together with friends to play soccer on the weekend and he coaches his son’s baseball team. He also tries to find time to fly-fish or hike in national parks around the country when possible.
