Blank Rome Partner Judge Stephen Orlofsky will speak at the New Jersey State Bar Association ("NJSBA") CLE program, "Significant Developments in Class Actions," held on April 11, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the New Jersey Law Center. 

The panel, which is presented in cooperation with the NJSBA Class Action Special Committee, will focus on the most recent developments that affect class action litigation, including:

  • Recent TCCWNA developments—a review of Dugan, Bozzi, Spade, and Wenger
  • Proposed Amendments to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23 and what it means to you
  • The Third Circuit’s developing ascertainability requirement for class certification
  • Tolling of statutes of repose and the effect on class actions—CALPERS v. ANZ
  • Mandatory arbitration clauses—the state of play in the courts and agencies
  • The future of multi-state class actions in light of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. v. Superior Cour and BNSF Railway v. Tyrrell
