Blank Rome's Katherine Franco Named "Woman to Watch" in Houston Business Journal's "Women Who Mean Business"

Blank Rome Associate Katherine Franco has been named a Woman to Watch by the Houston Business Journal (“HBJ”). As part of HBJ’s second annual Women Who Mean Business Awards, which recognizes Houston’s most successful women business leaders in for-profit and nonprofits industries, the "Women to Watch" designation honors up-and-coming women who have been in their industry for 10 years or less.

Winners were selected based on their career achievement, contribution to company and city success, community involvement, and leadership. The 70 honorees across eight categories will be recognized in a special segment of HBJ's October 27 weekly edition and at an awards reception on October 26. A businesswoman of the year will be revealed at the event and in the publication, and HBJ will also recognize a lifetime achievement award winner.

Based in Blank Rome’s Houston office, Ms. Franco concentrates her practice on the transactional aspects of intellectual property. She is a registered patent attorney who primarily focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, patent portfolio management, licensing and acquisition of intellectual property rights, opinion work, and client counseling, with a special concentration on software and computing issues. Ms. Franco is a member of the MIT Club of South Texas and serves as an educational counselor for MIT. She also actively participates in pro bono work for voter protection and voting rights.
