Probation for Tax Violation
November 30, 2005Blank Rome successfully convinced the court to depart downward and sentence our client, a building manager for a large cooperative apartment complex in New York, to probation and three months, home confinement when he was charged with conspiracy and tax violations in connection with receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in illegal kickbacks. The client's prosecution was one of several such cases brought by both federal and state prosecutors. He potentially faced a substantial jail sentence.
