Sifting Through the Wreckage: An Analysis of MDL Practice, Jurisdiction and Damages in an Air Crash Scenario

Prepared for Presentation to Global Aerospace

Elaine Solomon, Raymond Mullady, Jr. and Laurie Alberts Salita presented an educational seminar to a client entitled “Sifting Through The Wreckage: An Analysis of MDL Practice, Jurisdiction and Damages in an Air Crash Scenario,” Summer 2010.  This presentation was designed to provide an overview of multi-district litigation strategies and procedure, choice of law issues affecting damages and liability, and an analysis of the impact jurisdictional selection and choice of law can have upon the outcome of litigation.  The Montreal Convention, the Death on the High Seas Act, and maritime law were also among the issues discussed during this presentation, which involved a mock commercial aviation disaster.
