Export Controls Update

The National Contract Management Association's Greater Philadelphia Chapter presents its 2007 Local Education Seminar (LES), Export Controls Update on October 24, 2007 at the Boeing facility in Philadelphia.

This one-day seminar will focus on recent and upcoming developments in export controls, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations. Learn how the agencies are interpreting and applying current regulations, as well as what Congress may have in store for the future.

LES speakers include:

  • Barbara D. Linney, partner in the Washington, DC, office of Blank Rome LLP. She regularly advises both U.S. and foreign clients regarding U.S. export controls and economic sanctions, defense trade and security regulations, and other international trade and business issues. She represents clients before various U.S. federal agencies, including the Departments of State, Commerce, Treasury and Defense.
  • Norma Rein, senior manager in Boeing's Global Trade Controls (GTC)  organization, assigned to the Washington, DC Office, and in that capacity advises the company on all matters related to export control regulations, legislation and policy. She has had a long career with Boeing, having worked for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, and Boeing Helicopters.
  • Debbi Smith, manager in Boeing’s Global Trade Controls (GTC) organization, assigned to Rotorcraft - Philadelphia and Mesa sites, and is responsible for export licensing, compliance, and guidance on U.S. export regulations. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2003, and recently celebrated ten years with Boeing Integrated Defense Systems.
