Exit Strategies–Don’t be Surprised in Year 7

Michael Sanders, partner in Blank Rome's tax group, will be speaking on a panel at the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Conference 2012, which will be held in New Orleans, LA on October 18-19 at The Roosevelt Hotel.

Mr. Sanders's panel, "Exit Strategies–Don’t be Surprised in Year 7," will commence at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, and conclude at 4:00 p.m.  The panelists will discuss how to be ready for Year 7 by effectively planning for it before closing, specific technical issues that should be thoroughly addressed and negotiated before closing in order to achieve the goals of all the parties when Year 7 arrives, the tax consequences of cancellation of debt, fair market value of the call option, common issues to be aware of in transactions coming out of Year 7 now versus the way they are currently being structured, and the mechanics of the unwind, to name a few.
