Maritime Associations, Societies, Ministries
Jeanne M. Grasso, partner in Blank Rome's maritime group, will be moderating the panel on "Maritime Associations, Societies, and Ministries" at the 5th Annual Women on the Water (WOW) Conference at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, MA on Friday, October 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The “Maritime Association, Societies, and Ministries” panel will focus on the advantages to be gained through membership and active participation in professional organizations. It will also cover the maritime ministries and the support they provide to mariners, as well as expose both maritime professionals and cadets to associations/societies and the maritime ministries. The panelists joining Ms. Grasso in the conversation are:
- Edward Comstock, Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers (SNAME)
- Karen Miller, American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE)
- Katherine Culbert, Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
- Sr. Myrna Tordillo, Apostleship of the Sea (AOS)
The 5th Annual WOW Conference will be held from October 27–29 and will bring together cadets from the Federal and State Merchant Marine Academies with professional women and men who are leaders in different sectors of the maritime industry. The event will provide an opportunity for the cadets to learn about the careers that are open to them directly from industry insiders, as well as to hear about current issues affecting the maritime industry. This is also an opportunity for the cadets and professional women and men alike to meet and network with others in the maritime industry.
