Energy Availability and Air Emissions–The Government Perspective

Mare Forum 2010 USA

Houston, Texas

Jonathan Waldron, partner at Blank Rome, will be leading a panel discussion at Mare Forum USA's 2010 Conference held on February 19 at The InterContinental Hotel in Houston, Texas.

This year's forum—Maritime Transportation of Energy—will be a government–industry dialog that will focus on the impact of energy independence in America, as well as carbon emissions reductions and other initiatives, on the shipping and energy industries.  Speakers will discuss the priority regulatory issues most affecting energy development and marine transportation, and how they must be coordinated and managed together by government and the private sector to facilitate commerce and meet current and long-term energy and maritime transportation needs in a safe, secure, and environmentally sound manner.

The forum will be broken out into five different sessions.  Mr. Waldron will be leading the panel discussion in Session Two—Energy Availability and Air Emissions–The Government Perspective—that will focus on current priority regulatory projects and their need, status, and timelines; the impact of the outcome from UNFCCC COP 15; the likelihood of expanded offshore energy exploration—the 5-year plan; the impact of emissions reduction; maritime safety and refinery capacity; and alternative energy resources.
