Stephen T. Whelan Recognized as 2012 Empire State Counsel
Stephen T. Whelan, partner at Blank Rome, was recognized as a 2012 Empire State Counsel by the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) for his substantial pro bono services in 2012.
The Empire State Counsel program was launched in 2006 to recognize NYSBA members’ pro bono work—a minimum of 50 hours of legal services in a calendar year at no fee and without expectation of fee—on behalf of persons of limited financial means; not for profit, governmental, or public services organizations, where the legal services are designed primarily to address the legal and other basic needs of persons of limited financial means; or organizations specifically designed to increase the availability of legal services to persons of limited financial means.
