Burgeoning Brazil

John Kimball, partner at Blank Rome, and Joan Bondareff, of counsel, were recently quoted in the article "Burgeoning Brazil" in the Autumn 2011 edition of The Baltic on the increasing interest that law firms are showing for Brazil and the country's developing marketplace, especially in the maritime industry.

According to Mr. Kimball, "Brazil [is considered] to be among the most important areas in the world for future growth in the shipping industry."  Ms. Bondareff states, "While the U.S. Congress was teetering on the brink of a cliff and deciding whether the U.S. government, for the first time in its history, should default on its debts, some U.S. shipyards and many manufacturers are looking to Brazil for selling ships and other large assets."
