Corey Tarzik

Biography

Corey Tarzik concentrates his practice on real estate development, commercial leasing, financing and capital market transactions, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures. He represents a broad range of clients, including developers, owners, institutional investors, lenders, and real estate advisers.

While in law school, Corey worked as a summer intern for The Honorable Alvin K. Hellerstein, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Corey received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University, cum laude.

Experience

  • A publicly traded company in the acquisition of two regional shopping centers.
  • A major New York based pension fund advisers in joint venture formations and the acquisitions and dispositions of office and multifamily properties.
  • A publicly traded national bank in connection with numerous construction loans
  • A joint venture in the acquisition and financing of a 47-story Class A building in New York City.
  • A leading real estate firm in leasing of office and retail space in New York City.
  • A large Italian bank in a syndicated $500 million construction loan for construction of a 56-story luxury condominium hotel and apartment tower in midtown Manhattan.
  • A developer in a 272-unit, $100 million condominium project in Las Vegas, Nevada, including acquisition, joint venture formation, and construction and mezzanine financing, and workout.
  • A publicly traded housing developer in the acquisition and financing of a mixed-use project in Williamsburg, New York.
  • A U.S.-based private equity client in the formation of a Mexican business trust for the acquisition and development of “for-sale” residential real estate projects.
  • A partnership consisting of George Comfort & Sons, DRA Advisors LLC, and RCG Longview—owners of the iconic Worldwide Plaza in midtown Manhattan—in the sale of nearly half of its ownership interest in the property to American Realty Capital. The property is valued in excess of $1.25 billion—more than twice the 2009 acquisition cost.
