Mitesh Patel advises real estate owners and developers in nationwide acquisitions and sales, financing, and leasing of multifamily properties, commercial complexes and shopping centers, and single-tenant retail buildings. He also regularly represents private lenders that provide secured financing for a broad spectrum of real estate projects.
While in law school, Mr. Patel was an associate editor for the Fordham Law Moot Court Board. He also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Marcy S. Friedman of the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division.
Recent representative matters include:
- Representation of an investment bank loan originator in an approximately $197 million securitized mortgage loan to finance the construction of an office, warehouse, and R&D campus, net leased upon completion to a large-cap company.
- Representation of a private equity fund in its acquisition of a multifamily property valued at approximately $30 million and located in Colorado.
- Representation of a private equity fund in its sale of an office building valued at approximately $60 million and located in Georgia.
- Representation of either the landlord or the tenant in a variety of commercial lease transactions for office space.
COMMUNITY SERVICE & AFFILIATIONS
Mr. Patel is an active committee member and mentor at Visions and Pathways (formerly known as the Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children), a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing abused, neglected, and homeless youth with housing, a stable environment, and supportive services that guide them in becoming self-sufficient.
While in law school, Mr. Patel served as president of the South Asian Law Students Association.
