Safia G. Hussain concentrates her practice on complex corporate litigation matters, with emphasis in consumer and industry class actions, including fraud, privacy, and marketing claims. She also handles complex financial civil litigation matters, securities fraud claims, regulatory compliance, and entertainment and intellectual property disputes, mostly relating to contracts. Ms. Hussain represents clients in state and federal courts across the nation and is experienced in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and arbitration. She is also an effective negotiator, having successfully settled numerous matters pre- and post-litigation. She regularly advises clients on consumer and commercial best practices.

During law school, Ms. Hussain was a semifinalist in the William H. Mulligan Moot Court competition, and served as a notes and articles editor of the Fordham Law Review, where her article “Attacking the Dog-Bite Epidemic: Why Breed-Specific Legislation Won’t Solve the Dangerous-Dog Dilemma,” was published in 2006.


  • Obtained an early dismissal before an answer or motion practice in a putative class action involving unsolicited junk faxing in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”).
  • Obtained favorable settlement on individual claims in a putative class action involving misrepresentations on the packaging of pet chew products.
  • Obtained favorable settlement on individual claims in a putative class action involving violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act.


Ms. Hussain was a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Animals and the Law, and served as the co-coordinator for the Committee’s annual CLE program. Presently, she serves on the board of directors for Home Dog LA, a local animal rescue nonprofit.
