Ray Chung focuses his practice on intellectual property matters that include patent litigation, patent preparation, patent prosecution, opinion work, and patent portfolio management. He is experienced in a variety of technical fields, including semiconductor, telecommunications, computer software, and oil field services technology.

Mr. Chung has experience in prosecuting and obtaining patents for clients involving computer and electrical technology that include multiprotocol label switching, wavelength division multiplexing, wavelength switched optical networks, RFID, Ethernet and Internet Protocol networks, digital subscriber lines, passive optical networks, multimedia technologies, Internet mobility, microprocessors, analog-to-digital converters, computer memory, and operating system software. He also has experience in prosecuting and obtaining patents involving energy industry, including seismic equipment and processing methods, hydraulic fracturing, oil-field equipment, and oil production technologies.

Mr. Chung’s patent experience includes prosecuting high-value patent applications with complex prosecution issues before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, such as patent applications undergoing accelerated examination and for inventions that have been adopted by standards-setting organizations.

Before entering law school, Mr. Chung graduated with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and worked as a processor engineer and wafer test engineer at a computer memory fabrication facility.
