Prior to joining Blank Rome, Ms. Margolis was the head partner at a boutique law firm in San Francisco and SVP and associate general counsel at First Nationwide Bank (“FNB”) and Granite Management Corporation (then subsidiaries of Ford Motor Company). At FNB and Granite, she served as chief litigation counsel and directed the company’s litigation strategy for an expansive nationwide litigation portfolio of over 500 cases, consisting of commercial, employment (equal pay, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation), real estate (construction defect, developer, and  insurance), and banking (lender liability, class actions, and bank operations) disputes. This included managing government investigations and inquiries, supervising a team of attorneys and paralegals in house, managing outside counsel and litigation budgets, and reporting to upper management and the board on significant litigation matters.

Before that, Ms. Margolis served as senior counsel at Bank of America in several practice areas. In the litigation group, she defended significant lawsuits including lender liability, trust fiduciary claims, and bank operations matters such as large embezzlement cases. In Hong Kong, she managed the Bank's Asian litigation portfolio and outside counsel relationships and advised on U.S. laws and regulations. In Bank of America’s regulatory group, she prepared bank regulatory applications for foreign investments and bank acquisitions, interfaced with bank regulators, and presented legal seminars on U.S. laws and regulations.

Ms. Margolis works with the Family Justice Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco, providing pro bono legal advice in family law and child custody cases.

Ms. Margolis co-owned the San Francisco Realist Art Society in San Francisco, a membership art gallery in North Beach of 100 realist artists.

She also co-founded the Montclair Children’s Learning Center in Oakland, California, a non-profit association which provided pre-school education to local children.

Ms. Margolis is also a licensed real estate broker in California.
