Sheila E. Branyan is a member of the Corporate Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Branyan concentrates her practice in complex corporate and commercial litigation. She specializes in insurance coverage disputes and counseling, corporate indemnification advice and litigation, insurance insolvency litigation, and antitrust advice and litigation.
As a member of the consumer financial services team, Ms. Branyan regularly represents lenders and financial institutions in a variety of consumer finance litigation matters in federal and state court, including disputes under TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA and FDCPA, state law UDAP claims, and a variety of common law claims. She is experienced with motions practice, oral argument, the discovery process, trial practice and post-trial work.
Ms. Branyan is an active member of the ABA Antitrust Section.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Counsel to Liquidator of Reliance Insurance Company in a variety of matters, including disputes with guaranty associations and policyholders, as well as general legal and estate administration issues.
- Member of litigation team in Reliance Liquidator’s action against former directors and officers.
- Represented local company in successful contract action against international telecommunications corporation.
